    •     Materials
    •     Energy
    •     Water
    •     Biodiversity
    •     EmissionsEffluentsandWaste
    •     ProductsandServices
    •     Compliance
    •     Transport
    •     Overall

The most mature of these areas is Carbon, since large scale Carbon trading has now been established and whilst the $ 4 billion transferred to the 3rd world is a tiny fraction of international trade, it is expected to grow significantly, and current Carbon trading has established robust auditable measurement for large projects.

The challenge is to take these established methodologies and apply them to general business as Carbon accounting moves from very large projects down to day to day business.

The learning and methodologies applied to Carbon measurement, can then be rolled out through the other areas as appropriate.
